Areas We Serve

Sage House Counseling & Art Therapy serves the Northern Virginia area and Washington DC, providing exceptional counseling and art therapy services to adults, children, teens and families. We primarily serve Reston, Herndon, Vienna, Oakton, Ashburn, Great Falls and McLean. Sage House is one of the only therapy practices in Northern Virginia and Washington DC that offers art, play and sand tray therapies in additional to traditional counseling. Our unique offerings and holistic approach, as well as both in-network and out- of- network clinicians make Sage House Therapy  the top choice for mental health care in Northern Virginia and Washington DC. Our Master’s level clinicians bring years of experience, passion and dedication to their work. We ensure that our Art Therapists are Registered and Board Certified in Art Therapy through the Art Therapy Credentials Board (ATCB) and maintain the highest levels of clinical knowledge and expertise. Our team also includes Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC) and Residents in Counseling. All of our Residents are closely supervised and mentored by licensed professionals to ensure our clients receive exceptional care.

Sage House Therapy offices are conveniently located in Reston, Virginia just down the street from the Wiehle- Reston Metro station. For clients who wish to drive to our office, we offer ample free parking. For those looking to use public transportation there are numerous bus lines, including the Reston Internal Bus system, which connects to Reston Town Center. The Fairfax County’s Connector and Metrobus also have stops just a few blocks from our office. The W&OD bike trail is also located just a few minutes from our office and ample bike parking is available.

Our office features two waiting rooms, with complimentary beverages, fruit and snacks as well as high speed internet. We strive to provide our clients and their families with a professional, quiet and welcoming space. Whether you are a parent waiting for your child who is seeing one of our therapists or an adult relaxing prior to a session we make sure you are comfortable. As we frequently see children as young as three and new mothers with newborns, we have additional amenities to make life more convenient, such as restrooms on both floors, areas for breastfeeding, mixing formula, storing items that need to be refrigerated and cleaning bottles. We know coming to therapy isn’t always easy so we aim to make your experience as comfortable as possible!

At Sage House we value the positive effects the outdoors and being in nature can offer our clients. For this reason, we strive to bring the beauty of the outdoors into our therapy space. All of our therapy offices feature floor to ceiling windows with beautiful views into the tree canopy. Our offices are spacious and feature plenty of natural light, plush sofas, pillows and throws, to give you the most comforting experience possible. Our support groups and women’s circles are held in our group space, which features floor to ceiling windows and a lush garden view. With plenty of natural light and an open airy feel our space is inviting and a place where our clients enjoy spending time. We designed Sage House Therapy to feel more like a home than an office and we hope you will feel that way too when you visit.

For some of our clients coming to our offices is not possible. We work with those clients to ensure every tele-health session feels comfortable, personable and in compliance with the highest levels of cyber-security and HIPAA regulations. If a client wishes to incorporate art therapy in the tele-health sessions, our clinicians will curate an art-to-go kit which can be picked up either shipped to the client’s home or picked up at our offices. Our clinicians will also make recommendations for how to set up a home studio, what materials are appropriate and how to use them in and outside of the session.

Please note, while we welcome clients of all abilities, our building is not handicapped accessible. Our offices are on the 2nd floor and do require the use of stairs to access.
